Educational qualifications and desirable qualifications
A. Research Associate (RA)
Post 1 – Genetics and Plant Breeding / Plant Biotechnology
Essential qualification:
Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding / Plant Biotechnology; OR
Master's degree in the relevant discipline with 4/5-year bachelor's degree, first division or 60% marks, and at least three years of research experience.
One research paper in an SCI/NAAS-rated 24.0 journal.
Desirable qualification:
Molecular techniques.
Genomic analysis (GWAS/GS).
Genomic prediction.
ELISA.
Field experimentation and breeding techniques.
Post 2 – Bioinformatics / Plant Biotechnology
Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Plant Physiology or Crop Physiology with specialization in Genomics/Data Analysis; OR
Relevant Master's degree with 4/5-year bachelor's degree, first division or 60% marks, three years of research experience and one research paper in an SCI/NAAS-rated 24.0 journal.
Desirable:
Bioinformatics data analysis.
Genomic data handling.
QTL mapping.
GWAS and GS analysis.
Big data handling.
Post 3 – Plant Biotechnology
Ph.D. in Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Biotechnology or related disciplines such as Biochemistry, Crop Physiology or Plant Physiology, with specialization in Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology.

Plant tissue culture.

B. Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

M.Sc./M.Tech in Bioinformatics, Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Biotechnology, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Botany, Biochemistry, Crop Physiology or Plant Physiology.
Specialization in Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology.
Four/five-year bachelor's degree.
Desirable:
Bioinformatics data analysis.
Knowledge of field layout and data recording.
Post 5 – Plant Biotechnology
Master's degree in Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Biotechnology or related disciplines.
Specialization in Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology.

Important SRF note: Candidates having a postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with a three-year bachelor's degree and two-year Master's degree must possess a valid NET/GATE/DBT-JRF or equivalent national-level qualification.
Selection procedure
Written test will be conducted on 05 November 2026.
A merit list of candidates will be prepared.
Candidates shortlisted through the written test will be called for interview.
The selection committee will assess the shortlisted candidates.
Selected candidates will be informed accordingly.
