Eligible Candidates are invited for engagement as Assistant Professor cum
Junior Scientist for the following departments/subjects in Ranchi Agriculture
College; Agriculture College, Garhwa; Rabindranath Tagore Agriculture College,
Deoghar; Tilka Manjhi Agriculture College, Godda; College of Agriculture
Engineering, Ranchi & Horticulture College, Khuntpani, Chaibasa under Faculty of Agriculture on contractual basis for a period of six months and subsequent extension as per provision of University Act & Statute. Details given below:-
Eligibility :-
i. Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University. (Note :- Good Academic Record means at least 55% marks or equivalent grade under grading systems of evaluation in the degree level examination).
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET/GATE.
iii. Not with standing anything contained in (i) and (ii) above, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in a accordance with the University Grant Commission (Minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor of equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions. (Note:- For appointment on the posts of teachers/scientists, it would be a basic requirement for th candidate applying for the posts to hold/possess respective basic professional degree at the Undergraduate level).
iv. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
Instructions for the applicants :-
1. Candidates are advised make sure to fill up their application through the given link (https://rac-assit.prof.cum.jr.sci.recruitmentbauranchi.org/) till 05.06.2026 upto 5:00 P.M. Otherwise It will not be entertained at any circumstances after due date.
2. Candidates are advised to ensure to appear on the scheduled date of interview along with their original documents in the light of the information sought in the prescribed application form (MS word format) uploaded on the BAU website.
3. Separate application should be brought if the candidate is applying for more than one post.
4. Self attested copies of all the mark sheets, certificates of educational qualification & any other related testimonials should be enclosed with the application.
5. No T.A./D.A. will be given to the candidates for attending interview.
6. Candidates will be informed about the date, time and venue of the interview
through the University website/email.
7. Through this advertisement, appointment will be made on contract basis for 6 months, thereafter it is proposed to be given only one extension of service for the next six months as per University rules on the basis of satisfactory performance.
8. Office orders regarding extension of service of Assistant Professor cum Junior Scientists, already working on contract basis in the University, will not be considered automatically applicable to new recruit.

The amount of Application fee for Unreserved (UR), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Backward Class-I (BC-I) & Backward Class-II (BC-II) candidates is Rs. 1000/-, for Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST) candidates is Rs. 250/-. The Application fee will be Non-Refundable.
10. Number of vacancies as indicated above may increase or decrease as per the requirement.
11. In case of any legal dispute, it will be decided within the jurisdiction of Jharkhand High Court, Ranchi only.
12. Reservation will be applicable to SC, ST, BC-I, BC-II & EWS as pe Jharkhand State Government rules/norms.
13. If required horizontal reservation is applicable as per Jharkhand State Govt.
Rules/Norms.
14. The roster criteria is applicable only for Contractual engagement. This
appointment is purely contractual, it can’t be treated as a claim in any manner for regular appointment in future.
15. The Selected Candidate has to sign a bond paper (Non-Judicial Stamp) of Rs.100/- of the University at the time of joining.
16. Already employed persons are required to forward their application through proper channel and carry the hard copy thereof at the time of interview.
17. Those who are already appointed on contractual basis by earlier advertisement or their case are subjudice, need not to apply afresh against this advertisement as their posts are not included in this advertisement. However, the judgement pronounced by the Hon’ble High Court, Jharkhand in subjudice cases will be applicable.
